Sun Angle Announces Debut Album

Yesterday, New Moss Records dropped a line to give us the excellent news that they’ll be releasing Sun Angle‘s debut album later this year, on May 7. Sun Angle is the three-headed whirling dervish made up of guitarist Charlie Salas Humara, drummer Papi Fimbres, and bassist Marius Libman, making globe-swallowing psychedelia consisting of many moving parts.
The album is titled Diamond Junk and was produced by Danny Seim of Menomena, and we’re hoping to hear the first advance single in March—check back for updates. On Sunday, January 20 at Rontoms, Sun Angle plays their first show following a monthlong hiatus, during which, reportedly, “drummer Papi tripped his way through Istanbul living off of Turkish Delights and buying weird drum cymbals for Revival Drum Shop.” That Rontoms show is free; I’m guessing they’ll play some stuff from Diamond Junk, but it won’t make us any less eager for the new album.
